Positive Feedback
As a field operative, I work about 12 hours a day in the oil field. I am always around very loud equipment.
I wanted a headphone for calls, podcasts or just to listen to some background tunes or music. I was in need of something that will last the whole day.
These fit the bill for sure.
I usually wear a pair of earplugs around the loud equipment and use these alongside them.
The sound quality improves with the use of earplugs, letting you hear a much richer sound experience.
When I am not using the earplugs the headphone’s bass is almost non-existent.
They will probably start to vibrate more at higher volume levels with a reduced appreciation of lower tones, except with earplugs on.
The battery life is awesome but can vary much on how long you are listening to it and also how loud it is.
I use them in the mid to 3/4 volume range.
Even at higher volumes, I did notice that some words become inaudible and unclear around loud noises.
I tend to forget the headphones on my head, as they seem to fade into the background.
They handle sweat quite well too.
The quick charge feature is fast.
I plug them in for close to 20-30 minutes and they are all but fully charged and almost ready for another 10 hours of use.
The price feels a bit on the high side though.
Though they are NOT audiophile quality.
But for the use case of being able to hear your story and listen to things on your phone, then I will they are worth it.

This is my first experience with bone-conduction headphones.
I read several accounts of others who praised these as the best bone-conduction headphones.
From my experience, if their claims remain true, then bone-conduction headphones are not worth most people’s time and attention.
I rate these 3 stars for below-average sound quality, tacky controls, and low value for a high price point.
MY USE CASE:
Though a bit unusual to what you might be expecting.
My car doesn’t use Bluetooth connectivity and also lacks an aux-in to connect my phone to the car’s speakers.
As headphones are generally unsafe for use while driving.
FM radio transmitters are no longer in trend, as there are no longer any open frequencies in my area.
The other option of an aftermarket stereo upgrade is not worth it, as the car is 10 years old and I’m looking to sell it soon.
I decided to try out bone conduction, due to its open-ear design, which lets me hear traffic sounds, alarms, etc.
I am aware that the sound quality wasn’t a strong point going for these.
As they are more tuned for athletes and for workouts.
I made a splurge and got the OpenRun Pro.
Since it was rated highly alongside the best in the bone conduction category for sound quality.
And I was thinking about avoiding the cost of getting a brand-new car stereo, after all.
SOUND QUALITY:
To my ears, the sound quality is good for spoken words, but not good enough for music.
As it lacks both bass and high-end.
Although, I’m glad I bought these instead because any other with lesser quality would not be appreciated.
I consider this one of the worst audio speakers or headphones I have ever used.
When compared to the sound quality of the affordable Photive Hydra waterproof BT speaker I use in my bathroom.
I found the Photive Hydra’s sound quality to be more pleasing.
What I liked
- The sound quality works fine for spoken words like audiobooks, podcasts, talk shows, etc.
- Works great for calls
What I don’t like
- the sound quality is not good for music, poor in both bass and high end
ALTERNATIVE SOLUTION:
A later alternative I found recently was the Oraolo M110 wearable (around the neck) BT speaker.
It worked much better as a car audio alternative solution than the Shokz.
As the sound quality is superior (while still maintaining open ears to hear your surroundings).
And it also costs about a third of the price of the Shokz OpenRun Pro.
If I had seen this earlier I would never have gotten the Shokz and saved some money too.
While the Oraolo may not compare favorably to regular over-the-ear headphones.
It is far superior to the OpenRun Pro for what I needed to use them for.
