Positive Feedback
What I love the most about the headphone is that I can hear sounds from around me, at the same time as I am listening to music.
Thus they are not designed to be noise-canceling.
So whenever I want to hear the world around me, and also listen to music at the same time that is when I use them.
For instance: for GPS directions from my phone while also engaging in a conversation when driving my car.
The battery life lasts a very long time.
The only downside is that these headphones operate on vibration.
This means that if you turn them up too loudly you will experience tickling vibrations around your ears.
Luckily, the product is very high quality and you don’t need the volume to be at a maximum in the first place.
One major downside to the headphones is that they work with vibration.
Whenever you crank them up too loud you’ll experience a very uncomfortable tingling sensation on your cheekbones.
However, the headphones are well built such that even at very minimal volume levels you can very comfortably listen to any audio.
One strange thing about them is that they come with a special magnetic cord for charging that is unique to the headphones.
So you cannot charge these headphones with any other cord you might have in your home.
So don’t lose this cord or else you’re out of luck.
I find it surprising that they make use of a unique magnetic cord for charging the headphones.
As a result, you cannot charge your headphones with any other USB cord you may have in your office or home.
Hopefully, you won’t have any reason to misplace the cord.
Or better still buy some replacement cords before you will be needing them.
I get to use them every day as I ride my bike to work.
The sound quality is more than decent enough.
But, you do need to set up your volume levels as you go to suit or blend in properly with your environment.
Thus it will let you hear traffic around you.
If you do raise the volume to be too loud, your traffic hearing is a bit reduced and the headphones may also vibrate.
Whenever I don’t want the traffic to distract my podcast or people talking about stuff I am not interested in, I wear earplugs.
I do notice that the sound really comes alive, with rich improvements in bass and treble.
I find them very comfortable to wear all day and they sit well alongside my glasses too.
They are designed to be used while you are active or on the go.
Lying down flat with your head on a pillow in bed pushes forward the neckband which goes around the back of your neck.
The headphones are pushed out of place in front of your ears. I preferably would use some other headphones for sleeping.
However, I found that I could still use them when I place the neckband on top of my head.
Or at other times I use an ultra-comfortable soft side sleeping pillow for side sleepers when I rest on my sides.
For how useful they are while active, they are worth every cent when compared to the cheaper alternatives out there!
They are also waterproof, making them an ideal companion for working out in very heavy rain.
Though you will need to dry them properly before storing or recharging them.
You can quickly check the battery level during use, by tapping on the on/off button once.
I would highly recommend the OpenRun headphones.

I’ve been meaning to try bone-conduction earphones for a while, and I’m really happy with these.
Considering they’re not playing directly into my ears, they sound fantastic, and they allow me to hear my surroundings.
They also fit really comfortably, and I could easily wear them all day.
I did a quick phone call test and confirmed that the microphone is clearly audible (at least in a reasonably quiet environment).
I’d definitely buy them again.
Having said that, there are a few things that are annoying, and they make the difference between a four-star and a five-star rating:
I’ve been looking forward to trying out bone-conduction headphones for a while now, and I’m really glad to have these.
Though they’re not being played straight into my ears, they do sound great, and they also allow me to hear my surroundings clearly.
They do fit comfortably, and I often wear them all day.
Making phone calls showed that the microphone is very audible (I tested them in a relatively quiet environment).
I’d probably buy more as the need arises or as gifts to my friends and loved ones.
After mentioning stating that, I do find a few things annoying.
These are what makes them a four-star rating instead of a five-star:
- I would have preferred the stick with conventional norms of using the volume buttons for skipping ahead or rewinds. They opted to use the multifunction button instead, which takes a little while to mentally adjust to. I often find myself not using them properly as expected, double tapping instead of triple tapping.
- The Volume/Power and multi-function buttons are located on either side of the headphone. Thus pausing or turning off the headphone, requires using your two hands. Definitely not a good choice for anyone with only one hand. I believe there’s enough space on the headphone, such that all the buttons could be located on one side.
- While magnetic charging cables work great for laptops and tablets. They don’t seem that necessary for use on headphones. There’s also the challenge of having to buy and use multiple proprietary cables to charge them in different locations (home, car, travel bag), which I find very annoying. USB-C is the new normal and would have been a good choice instead. Manufacturers should stop annoying consumers with their unique flavors of littering cables, and stick with USB-C.
