While the reviewers’ responses have been openly positive towards the headphones.

We have been able to sort through the negative and positive reviews and give our own rating from the varying reviews.

Here are some of the main features most people have rated highly or poorly about the Finis Duo:

Comfortable Fit

The lightweight MP3 player build lets you to fasten the device to your goggle straps to rest on your cheekbones.

You should find the headphone easy to use and charge as they snap well into place due to the magnets.

This ensures your headphones are charging once connected and can be used once fully charged.

It works well for swim workouts, enhancing your swim experience by playing audio files like music, audiobooks, podcasts, etc.

Ensuring each stroke feels much more rewarding than without having the headphone.

FINIS DUO REVIEW

Here’s a Finis Duo video review from No Limits – No Regrets.

FEATURES

  • BONE CONDUCTION AUDIO TRANSMISSION
  • SUPPORTS MP3 AND WMA AUDIO FORMATS
  • 4GB INTERNAL MEMORY STORAGE SPACE
  • INTEGRATED CLIP DESIGN
  • WATERPROOF IPX8

BONE CONDUCTION AUDIO TRANSMISSION

It delivers amazingly clear sound via bone conduction technology underwater with or without the use of ear plugs.

You get to enjoy listening to audio underwater from music, audiobooks, or podcasts during your swimming laps.

Helping you cope with the sometimes boring and lonely swim sessions.

SUPPORTS MP3 AND WMA AUDIO FORMATS

There is support for .mp3 and .wma audio file formats, as these are some of the most common audio formats available.

It is also compatible with iTunes so you can transfer your supported audio files from iTunes to the device.

Letting you listen to your favorite music, audiobooks, or podcasts, even underwater, without relying on Bluetooth technology.

4GB OF STORAGE

It comes with 4GB of Internal Storage Space and can store up to approximately 1000 songs or about 60 hours of audio playback time.

You get so much space to drop your favorite musical albums, playlist collections, podcast series, or audiobooks of your favorite authors.

So that you can have fun, laugh, and learn as you swim.

Tip – Mac OS Users should empty the Trash can on their computer before connecting the Duo to the USB cable.

INTEGRATED CLIP DESIGN

It comes with a clip-on design, which helps to attach the device to your goggle straps.

This allows them to rest easily on your cheekbones for a comfortable and secure fit.

This lets the headphones stay in place as you swim, regardless of how heavy your swimming strokes are.

So that you can enjoy your swim while listening to music at the same time.

And without having to be worried that the headphones may fall out and disappear to the bottom of the pool.

WATERPROOF IPX8

It is rated IPX8 for waterproofing.

It can be used up to a depth of 3 meters and for 30 minutes at a stretch, at that depth before you need to resurface.

Any longer than the recommended time limit at the approved depth and you risk damaging the headphones.

You can go swimming, swim diving or snorkeling with it.

The headphones are waterproof enough to survive through your swim strokes or underwater immersive usage and will last you a long while.

The audio quality is much improved when underwater.

FINIS DUO CUSTOMER FEEDBACK

Below we showcase balanced feedback from actual customers. They have written down their reviews from their own personal experiences from their personal use of the Finis Duo headset, from across the web.
tayogo wb02 bone conduction headset

POSITIVE FEEDBACK

I frequently use both earbuds and bone conduction headphones. While earbuds provide much clearer sound, bone conduction headphones has two distinct advantages:

1. Comfort

Earbuds create a lot in-ear discomfort during use. Compared to the open-ear design of the bone conduction headphones.

2. Waterproof

Earbuds and other cabled in-ear devices, make room for the possibility of water gaining access into the MP3 player.

This for me is what makes bone conduction the winner.

The Duo MP3 player remembers where you paused listening to an audio file, when you turn it off and on.

However, if you mistakenly skip to the next track, you will have to start all over again. This is quite easy to do, because the volume and track functions are controlled by the same buttons.

  • Owen

CRITICAL FEEDBACK

While I like the FINIS Duo headphones, I did find some issues to nitpick with it.

Build quality:

Beyond the issue with the electrical contacts and mineral build-up,

  • Not wireless, cabled part connecting both headphones.
  • Plastic shielding at the base of the cable is not very durable.
Lacking basic features:

It would be nice if the headphones had

  • Audio or visual battery alert

You may not know when the battery will be exhausted till they die.

As such, you just use them till they die before you know it is time to recharge.

Though, they last about 6 hours, but it would not be fun to just enter into the pool and they sunddenly die out.

An audio cue or a simple red light flash when the battery is getting low, could be very useful.

  • Audio prompt when you are pressing the buttons

Adjusting the volume to your desired level with the headphones on your head can be challenging.

Finding and using the buttons takes a bit of practice.

You will need to long press the track up/down button to change the volume.

It can be very difficult to know when the volume has started to change.

And you will more often overshoot your preferred level.

Having a beeping sound feature to reflect a button press or volume change will be very helpful here.

The headphones lasted only 1.5 years which is a bit short for me.

However, I believe they are the best on the market even with the flaws, so I will be buying another pair.
